Nimueh is leader of the Iceni tribe, having earnt the position after defeating the previous chieftain in single combat. She is a strong leader with a hardy spirit, an iron will and she is certainly not to be underestimated in battle. Of all the tribal leaders, Nimueh has seen the most bloodshed in battles against Orcs and the Rohirrim and thus her hatred for both is stronger. Nimueh has quite a fearsome reputation amongst the Rohirrim as she has led her army in many battles high in the Mountains near the gap of Rohan (A strip of land that has been fought over for centuries now). To most, she comes across as blunt and harsh, even towards her own people at times. She never has been a particularly jolly or cheery person. All the same, like all leaders she still takes much council from her people and strives to keep them all safe. She has been at their head and kept them safe for 7 years now.

Murtagh is chieftain of the Setanii tribe and is a much calmer and level-headed leader. He was chosen to replace the previous chieftain having proven to be one of his most loyal and talented commanders. Murtagh is a respectable character and will always strive to do the honourable thing. Unfortunately not everyone is as principled as he is and that often leaves him at a great disadvantage. He relies quite heavily on a group of councillors to support him and advise him on all matters though he is a little more in his element when it comes to strategy after years of proving to be a brilliant tactician. And it this skill that has kept his tribe thriving for 6 years under his lead now.

Caelan is one of the youngest leaders and a very charismatic character. He is not amongst the strongest nor wisest but he certainly knows his people well and will always try and represent them as best as he can. It is in fact his love for his people and his dedication towards them that pushed him to be elected as chieftain. Having said this, he still has skill as a smith and makes a fine fighter, and he will lead his Men in battle. Caelan spend most of his time either training, leading or working in the forges and fields alongside his people. He is a hearty character and very down-to-earth though as quick as he is to laugh, he is also quick to anger and is easily provoked. He has the ability to transform into a stag. He has led the Noventae for a little under two years now.

Ragnar is without a doubt the most feared of all the leaders, not only amongst the Dunlendings but he is infamous amongst the Rohirrim. He was made leader when he proved himself in one of the largest battles that the Dunlendings have known against the Rohirrim when he was 16. The battle should have been lost after the Selgovae had lost their leader and over half their men, but Ragnar stood fast and killed the captain of the Riders after unseating him. He bid the Selgovae to stand and he led them to a victory that none foresaw. He is protective over his people and his wife and would give his life to protect them all. He has led the Selgovae for 15 years and is the most experienced of the leaders.

Of all the tribes, Lir is possibly the chieftain that defies most of the stereotypic images that folk have of the Dunlendings- He isn't a ferocious warrior nor particularly intimidating. Instead, Lir has kept his people safe for a year now through no shortage of intelligence and cunning. He uses the forest in which his people dwell much to their advantage and his knowledge of the plants and herbs that grow there allows them to use poisoned arrows and spears to fight off intruders and they strike from the treetops where they cannot be seen. In battle, Lir will coordinate attacks and signal the various factions to attack in the form of a hawk where he can see everything that happens. Outside of battle, Lir is quite a gentle-hearted, reasonable and caring leader and works closely with Caelan.

She understands very well the needs and desires of her people and strives to ensure their safety and well-being. And as quite an experienced and family-oriented character who would ask for peace where others cry for war, she offers a perspective on matters that many of chieftains would not think of. And over the three years of her rule, she has earned the well-deserved respect of her people.

Known as the 'laughing huntress', Asha surprises many with her fairly playful and teasing personality. She is a light-spirited soul who has the wonderful ability to spread gaiety no matter what situation she should be in. She often sees the opportunity for fun where others wouldn't mess around. She is prone to a little teasing- all these are traits not always appreciated by the more serious chieftains, but they have earned her the love of the Dumonii. She has the ability to shift into the form of a fox. However it wasn't messing around that won her the place as chieftain, she defeated the previous chieftain in combat. She is a huntress and has skill with a bow. However Asha does not always listen when she should and is prone to taking risks when it comes to warfare.
